Hey everyone, it has been 3 years since I have posted. A lot has happened in 3 years and I mean a lot. A huge change is that now I am a mom. We just celebrated my daughter's 2nd birthday. Time goes by so quickly. Another change is that my mom passed suddenly in May 2018. It was a year of adjustment and being a counselor this last year was a challenge while grieving (this can be its own post). And, I finished my 13th year as an educator and 10th year in counseling. When I say I love what I do, I cannot say it loud enough or express with so much joy how much I love working with youth and seeing them through the good, the bad and the ugly.
This year, we changed our counseling caseload and I will be the 10th grade counselor. I have my year planned already and just need to finish some presentations and activities. I am SO excited!! I think it will be so fun to track this year in a blog. I really needed a change from doing the same things over and over. Also, I am in a better mental state (although grieving is a process) so I would like to document this journey. It will also be interesting to see how this will all look while having a 2 year old who thinks she is grown.
Most definitely, I have learned more now than ever that life is too short. Yes, I love my career, but my family is most important. I will make an effort to be more in the moment with my family and not take any moments for granted.
I cannot wait to share with you all.
